When your datacenter is first built it has been designed to accommodate a certain number of devices and to last a specific length of time. As time passes and the datacenter fills with equipment (green line) until it eventually reaches its capacity, sometimes, before the facility has reached the end of its design life.
With nlyte®, it is easy to identify which devices are actually contributing to the overall efficiency of the facility (blue line) and which devices are no longer required. It has been our experience that a significant number of assets captured by nlyte® at implementation were purchased for projects that have long expired or were intended for planning purposes, but are actually no longer needed.
At time of implementation and throughout the period, nlyte® manages the facility. The solution will identify and locate all under-utilised or redundant equipment; in some instances up to 20% per annum and allow the business to recycle or re-distribute this excess equipment. nlyte® will contribute valuable Management information that will enable the business to extend the life of the datacenter.
