The nlyte® Organization Module puts you in complete control of the relationships between your datacenter resources and the business groups within your organization, enabling you to align ownership, responsibilities and costs to the appropriate groups.

Aligning datacenter resources with your business organization

Managing your datacenter successfully means more than controlling the environment and the systems it contains. The nlyte® Organization Module allows you to create and report upon the relationships between your datacenter resources and the business groups within your organization. This enables you to align the ownership and responsibilities of managing your datacenter and its equipment to the appropriate groups within your organization. To achieve this, the nlyte® Organization Module allows you to define and manage the organizational units and support groups within your business and then relate these to the assets within your datacenter.

You can calculate charge back percentages to bill for shared use of datacenter resources between business groups

Modelling the business organization
nlyte® business groups allow you to define the hierarchical organizational structures within your business. Using these, you can establish single or shared ownership of the assets in your datacenter. These relationships allow you to record and report on usage of the equipment by business group, to assign costs for this usage for charge back purposes and to identify which groups will be affected by loss of services.

Assigning support group responsibilities
nlyte® support groups allow you to define the support groups within your business and their hierarchical relationships. You can use this information to assign exclusive and shared maintenance and issue resolution responsibilities for datacenter assets and business applications and, subsequently, to charge for these services.

Recording business application relationships
You can define your business critical applications within nlyte® and link them to the business groups that use them and the support groups responsible for them, as well as the operating systems and servers that they actually run on. Reporting on these relationships, nlyte® helps you calculate costs and bill them to the appropriate business groups.
